A "new" Tv dresser FINALLY

I have been longing to do something about this dresser for suchhhhhhhhh a long time, and I always used the excuse/reason that it was too cold outside - snowing - raining, but since I don´t have a garage where I rent I guess those excuses were legit (in my head at least). But the other day the weather was good enough when I came home and I had, had enough of that ugly thing, so I attacked it :D
With a little help I dragged it outside to sand it down, and dust it off....phuff half way there.
Or maybe not since I was going to paint it in two colors, I sought advise from a website called homemakeronadime, I love looking at since she and her mom are always painting things like this and the outcome is always so beautiful.

Sorry about the mess - but this is what it looked like
And this is where I was having problems - I didn´t know how to mask this area
This is not a very pretty dresser.. Agreed?

Sanded and dusted

So it was masking time

I started by painting the gray in

Then I "inverted" the tape and painted the white

I have to say that was not the fun - est thing i´ve ever done.
The dresser it self and the drawers were super easy - I taped the inside of the dresser so it got a bit of a border.

the whole thing drying

AAAAnd taaadaa.....
I´m super happy with the result, and the whole living room lighted up once everything was in place again.

Voila !!

I´m loving the white
That feeling of accomplishment lasted for probably a week - and I think I asked my boyfriend at least 10 times - don´t you just love it haha :D
Thank you SJ for your advice !!

Oh, my goodness! You'd never think it's the same dresser :) Woohoo! Great job. I'm going to feature this in my post tomorrow called Recognition Day Thursday. Great job, Inga!

I think it looks AMAZING! I did the same to an old bookcase from Ikea - painted it off white - and it looked great. :-)

INga,

Thanks for stoppin by my blog. I love the idea of what you did for the dresser! I do think if you wanted to add Just a tad bit more sass you could get metal ornate handles. Super easy to install and paint them the grey and distress them with a bit of 220 sandpaper. But that is my opinion take it or leave it...I think you did a fab job.

hope you come back to visit
